Apple Investors are Dead, Long Live Investors
The Trader is dead, long live the Trader. This is my official proclamation now that this Bear market has finally proven to us all that it is futile to trade this market. Technical Analysis, economic reports, historical data, they all have little to no meaning while volatility is sitting above recent historical highs.

Apple Earnings Strategies
Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray, a notoriously bullish Apple analyst, appeared on CNBC’s Fast Money today, he thinks Apple will report strong Q4 earnings after the close tomorrow. Munster said that the streets expectations are way too low. He cited NPD data that suggests that Apple sold approximately 11 million iPods versus the Street consensus [...] 21Oct2008 | Zach Bass | Comments | Continued
Apple Fails to Deliver, Rally Fizzles
Now I’m not saying that Apple caused the stock market rally to fizzle, but I think a case could be made that as the de facto leader of Tech, Apple’s refresh of their notebook lineup did nothing to stem the tide of the rally. Maybe that’s a little unfair in that the rally lost steam [...]

Disclosure: Mostly cash, vary small long for the near-term
The markets had a nice rebound on Friday, only to give some of it back just before the close. And AAPL followed the pack. The rally can be attributed to any number of factors, of which the top contenders are extreme oversold conditions and shorts covering ahead [...]
Will Apple Get Lift From IBM Profit?
Disclosure: Long
It’s an odd question to ask, but the Tech Sector is desperately seeking a leader. And Apple, who once held that station, has so far been unable to deliver. Has IBM assumed that leadership position with their impressive 3rd quarter profits that not only beat the street, but reaffirmed their 2008 guidance? The Crackberry [...]
Investors Closing Bell is All that Kept Apple Above 100
I called my dad around 2:20 p.m. today (Thursday Oct 2) and told him I’ve got a bad feeling, “Get out of the market now,” I said. ”Where am I going to go, why what’s up?” he asked. It isn’t what’s up, it’s what is about to go down. I’m getting that sinking feeling. Right [...]

Is Apple a Buy Here Poll
The question you have to ask your self is, do you believe that Monday (September 29) marked capitulation, the market bottom? What should make me think we hit bottom? A soaring VIX, 1/3 of all issues plotting new lows, RSI’s at historic levels, yadda, yadda, yadda. But what about the thing that got us here, [...]
1Oct2008 | Zach Bass | Comments | ContinuedApple Investors Is There a Bottom in Sight?
Apple dropped 23 points today, nearly 18 percent, in what will go down as the single most horrific day in the stock market. At least until tomorrow that is, if investors get wind that the bailout plan is a no-go, then we’ll do it all over again!
Now, I’d like to apply some form of technical analysis [...]
Apple Investors the Bailout Won’t Stop What’s in Apple Store
I’ve recently come to grips with where this economy is headed, with or without the bailout. And there is no doubt that a bailout bill will stem the imminent collapse of our global financial system. But this bill is not a panacea. The fundamental economic and financial problems will still be there. What the bill will provide [...]

Apple Investors are Shorts to Blame for this Mess?
I’ve had several members write me about the evil things inherent with shorting stocks, that the shorts would have run us into the ground given the opportunity, because they are evil and greed driven monsters. And that we need to ban shorts and castrate those that practiced the evil art, so that it may never [...]

Born in the USA Apparently Living Under Communism
The free market is dead. Our government has adopted a new policy, change the rules in the middle of the game and nationalize troubled companies, assuming all the risk on behalf of the US Tax Payer. Apparently it is now in our best interest to own a bunch of failing companies. And how do they [...]

What are the ingredients for a very sick market? Let’s start with the lesions on the surface, like a commodities bubble burst, total financials breakdown, anemic tech sector, and a housing fiasco. Now let’s combine that with the following deleterious symptoms like big volume on down days, gap ups finished off by black candles, and [...]

Can Apple Withstand the Fall of the Financials?
Will Lehman be the next bailout? Or will the Government let this big financial house just fail outright? The Treasury stepped in and took over Fannie and Freddie, making US Tax Payers the default caretakers of these two behemoths. Is Lehman next, seems everyone is concerned over Lehman, how about Wachovia? The sad thing is, [...]

Apple Investors, Just Where do We Stand?
My take on the government bailout of Fannie and Freddie
Although we look to extend this rally some, I fear it won’t last. Unless of course we were to break through the Fibonacci levels I mentioned in today’s Market Outlook commentary in the Wilderness Forums. What I think is most likely to happen is that we [...]
Gartner, Industry Still Don’t Understand what Apple’s iPhone is About
Today a Gartner report said global sales of smart phones grew 16% in Q2 of 2008, but sales were slowing, particularly the iPhone, where Apple’s share of global smartphone sales to end users decreased to 2.8 per cent from 5.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2008. But this was of course due to clearing [...]

Apple Tuesday Let’s Rock Prediction and Poll
So according to Kevin Rose of Digg, the Apple event next Tuesday will be all about iTunes 8 and new iPods, specifically a new Nano-like iPod. It will be in a retro form, longer and thinner like the original Nanos. That’s great, but I don’t see how that advances the Touch interface. Here’s a question, [...]

Are iPhone 3G Defect Rates Way Above Apple’s Standards?
This is my second article concerning Apple’s lack of quality control in as many days. So, let me just say that I’m sorry for the incessant rant. But I am losing confidence in a company that I have stood by in both thick and thin. Even during the dark days of Apple, I had unwavering faith in [...]

iPhone 3G Quality Control is Dismal, Very Un-Apple-Like
You may have seen past posts where I had less than good luck with my iPhone 3G purchase. Some of it had to do with process snafus, but the root cause was material defects. Well to recap, the first iPhone had a Home button that simply did not work. The second iPhone developed a crack [...]

Wilderness Member’s Family is Apple to the Core
This article was posted in the Wilderness Investor Group by member Earsaver. It’s in response to the iPhone rant written by Thomas Hawk, and published by Seeking Alpha yesterday, August 7.
Good morning everyone.
My family is the happy home to two original iPhones (one still active, the other presently serving as a WiFi iPod Touch) and now [...]
Apple CEO Steve Jobs Administers Executive Justice over MobileMe Blunder
The following is a reprint from Applelot.org, with permission from the author, TechStock200. Just for the record, I never had problem with MobileMe, it worked from the start, but I feel for those that did, it was very un-Apple like. I’m very glad that SJ has taken this decisive action. Way to go Steve! Here’s [...]
