About

Gyasi the Rhodesian Ridgeback

Let me start with a declaration; I’m an Apple fanboy. I bought my first Mac two days after it was introduced to the world back in 1984. And since that time, I have owned nearly one hundred Macs! Today, my home is graced with eight Macs, strategically located throughout.

Everyone that knows me has been subjected to my Apple mantra, about how they will be enlightened, their life will become Zen-like, and all suffering will subside, only if they accept the Steve Jobs Reality Distortion Field as the truth. To compliment my love of Appl, I’ve been a technology maven, business owner and consultant for 30 years. On the flip side, I have two beautiful teenage daughters, a lovely wife and a great dog, Gyasi the Rhodesian Ridgeback, and a whole lotta good friends.

I love investing, everything about it, and revel in the challenge of understanding the sentiment of the markets. I call it the study of mob behavior. I have been investing for as long as I’ve had this love affair with Macs. So, naturally I created a platform that lets me opine about investing in Apple and companies and markets that influence Apple, I call it the Apple Ecosphere.

If there’s one thing I hate, that’s losing money. And like most, when they first start out investing, I made mistakes and lost my fair share. So, to keep my passion from waning, I realized that I needed to become as skilled and knowledgeable as I could be with investing, the markets, and the companies I planned to invest in. Not only that, I had to develop a strategy and a philosophy that allowed me to do the things I loved and make good returns.

So, in a nut shell, that’s what this blog is about; my opinions on Apple and the Apple Ecosphere, investing in Apple, and snippets of my the Life. In this blog I will promote the investing philosophy that underlies everything I do, and that is:

Capital Preservation First, Maximum Profits Second

So, here’s what you can expect from me: Nearly every day the market is open I will provide a technical analysis covering a wide variety of influencers to Apple (AAPL), including; the indices, economic reports, market internals, stock and market fundamentals, and events. At least a few times a week, I will opine, write reviews, and publish notes on trading, technical analysis and investing strategies.

My goal is to develop a community that will engage in high-level discourse concerning Apple, Trading, Life, or anythings else that comes to mind.

For those wondering about the name Zach Bass, well it’s a play on the character from a 1971 movie staring Richard Harris called, “Man in the Wilderness.” It’s the true story of a scout leading a group of trappers across the northwest wilderness. Zach was mauled by a bear and left for dead by hi companions. Zach recovers and seeks vengeance on his companions. Along the way he finds spiritual redemption and is transformed into a rational forgiving man with no anger left in his heart.

Now I was never mauled or left for dead, I just love the story and the character Richard Harris portrayed, and so I use “zachbass” as my handle in forums and investment groups. But I believe my experience in the school of hard knocks over the past 30 years has provided me with an opportunity to share my insights and help people make informed rational decisions with their investments.
